Foong Yean Restaurant (方源冷气餐厅) @ Bayan Lepas, Penang

On the second day of Chinese New Year, we will go out for lunch after visiting my uncle.

This year, we went to Foong Yean Chinese Restaurant in Bayan Lepas. The food is decent and you only get to order the set meals available during Chinese New Year.

This is a late blog update of course, as I’ve forgotten about the photos taken. 

Yet again, I managed to hoard them in a folder without bothering to open it. 

The entrance, with a huge poster showing their

signature dishes I supposed.

Poon Choy (盆菜) or known as Big Bowl Feast

is available in the restaurant.

I should try that someday.

Yee Sang @ RM 23.00 (for small serving)

Yee Sang is a must during the Chinese New Year. ^^

During Chinese New Year, the restaurant provided set meals to be ordered,  perhaps there will be lots of diners during the festive season.

We ordered Set A (there are 3-4 sets if not mistaken) which costs RM 328 for 4 to 7 person.

For 8-10 person, it costs RM 488. I can't remember if they do charge us for rice.

Broccoli with Fresh Scallop

One of my fav! Scallop and broccoli. What a good combination.

Claypot chicken with special sauce and Chinese wine,

Indonesian prawns in claypot, braised 8 treasure with

shark's fin soup, steamed pomfret with soy sauce.

The chicken dish is delicious with an appetising aroma, 

same goes to the prawns which are slightly spicy.

They should replace shark's fin soup with something

better, just to save the sharks from ending up as

a delicacy. 

Abalone and sea cucumber in claypot

Mushrooms! That's what I see. lolz

This is not bad as well. Worth a try. ^^

Foong Yean restaurant is located just beside Maybank.

It is easy to spot if you are familiar with Bayan Lepas.

Food: 7/10 (decent and not too expensive. I've only been there for the second time)

Ambiance: 7/10 ( comfortable, as you get to dine in an air conditioned restaurant.)
